Hook up for dsl phone jack
By Doug Aamoth January 7, Q: Without spending a fortune, is there a way I can connect my phone to the stereo so I can listen to music? Yes, you absolutely have a few options — some more expensive than others, and one that might actually cost you next to nothing. That thing is looong gone by now, right? For a couple sawbucks, you can add a Bluetooth connection of sorts to your stereo. Your phone connects to the transmitter via Bluetooth, and the transmitter then relays the audio from your phone to a blank FM station on your radio. Several of these products feature microphones so you can make and take hands-free calls as well. Your best bet here would be to look for a local car audio place that sells stereos bundled with installation. Make sure to check whether the mounting kits and wiring kits are included in the price of installation. Or do some research and learn to install the stereo on your own.

Share on Facebook Some telephone systems feature two or more lines, enabling business users to switch between calls as needed. Some of these telephones have one or more data ports to which fax machines, modems or answering machines can be connected. You can plug your fax machine into the telephone to enable you to make outgoing calls on the line when you are not sending faxes — although your company won’t be able to receiving incoming faxes while the line is in use. How to Install a Phone Jack By: Danny Lipford Telephone jacks can be either flush or surface mounted, so be sure to buy a replacement jack that fits your particular setup. Also, never work on a phone line during a thunderstorm, since lightning can travel down the wire causing serious injury. To disconnect the line, find the telephone interface box which is usually mounted on an outside wall where the phone lines runs into your house.
Open the customer access panel and unplug the test jack.

I connected the modem directly to my cordless phone base and all the cordless phones work fine even the cheap answering machine that’s attached to the system works fine. The only problem with this configuration is there’s a wall phone in the kitchen that connects to a phone jack – and it won’t work with this set-up. I’ve been reading some about getting the Comcast phone signal to “stream” through all our phone jacks – and still don’t understand the basic wiring.
When you plug in X – then Comcast is supposed to work on all your phone jacks. Haven’t looked into the outside boxes yet to see if one or both are loaded with tons of wires which would indicate “home runs” if I’m understanding this correctly. The boxes are locked – and given a couple of hours – I’m sure I can figure out where I put the keys. Without knowing beans about any of this stuff – it seems to me that if all the phone lines are wired as “home runs” – connecting one to Comcast through “X” won’t do the trick.
Someone would need to connect at least 2 – the one that serves the cordless network – and the one in the kitchen. I don’t have a clue whether this is even possible – much less easy. Also note that our house is concrete block – our modem is on the side of the house opposite our boxes – and I have no desire to run new wires through the walls – up in the attic – etc. I also don’t have any intention of doing this work myself. I’d call Comcast to do it.
But – before I schedule any call – I’d like to know whether the tech would be out on a “fool’s errand” and I’d be wasting my money. FWIW – Comcast has only been out to my house perhaps twice in the last decade.
How to Switch to VoIP and Ditch Your Home Phone Bill Forever
Not just an extension to your current phone, but another line with its own number. It could be used as the kids’ phone or reserved for home business or Internet use. And all the while your original phone line will remain open for making and receiving calls. Installing a new phone line is surprisingly easy and safe. Phone wires carry a very weak electrical charge and you’ll only need a few basic tools to complete the job.
This means that you can hook it up to your existing phone system/wiring in most cases. All you have to do is simply run a telephone cord and insert it into the dongle. You then take the other side of the phone line and plug it into your closest existing telephone jack into the wall.
I devised a solution and wanted to share what I learned. This particular model of TV only had a digital audio output connector! The converter can also accept digital coax input. There is no guarantee this will work in your situation. The digital analog converter converts either coaxial or optical Toslink digital stereo audio signals to analog stereo audio. Some televisions may require a digital coax cable. I list both cables below. On the Input side it has a Toslink digital audio connector with a hinged door.
This connector is square in shape with two beveled corners. See image of connector below. The tip in this connector is 3. The tip is typically surrounded by housing that is square in shape, but has two beveled corners. I should also mention that there is a Toslink mini connector. Monoprice sells a Toslink to Toslink mini adapter.
